Due to damage Trail Blazer Camps’ trails sustained during recent storms, we have elected to postpone the Bear Country Run due to safety concerns. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will consider supporting us again at our next event.

Break out your sneakers for our 5K Trail Run/Walk around Lake Mashipacong

All proceeds will go towards Trail Blazers’ Scholarship Fund, enabling children from Sussex, Milford, Port Jervis and New York City to attend our summer programs!

Schedule Details

The First Annual Bear Country Run is 5K (3.1 miles) of forested trail through Trail Blazer Camps. Junior race for teens, 1K Cub Run for children and food and festivities for runners and non-runners alike, this active family day is perfect for wrapping up the summer!

8:00 am – Buses for NYC families depart (location TBD)

(Transportation is optional and made available for a small fee to cover the cost of chartering the bus.)

9:30 am – Opening of the day, and local NJ parents arrive

10:00 am to 12:00 pm – Adult and Junior Trail Runs

Ongoing: BBQ, Live Music, climbing, boating, archery, art activities for the kids as well as camp tours!

12:30 pm – Cub Run

1:30 pm – Prizes and Awards

2:30 pm – Buses depart for NYC

Runners, Walkers and Supporting Spectators Welcome!

You may run as an individual but feel free to run as a team of 5 or more. Prizes for the most creative team costumes; spectators can have costumes too! Registration includes run, t-shirt and BBQ. Remember, all funds go directly to Trail Blazers’ Scholarship Program: you can contribute the minimum pledge yourself or say gather $5 from 12 friends, family and Facebook and even try to surpass the minimum, sending even more children to camp!

Adult Bear Run: $60 per person (minimum pledge)

Junior Bear Run (ages 12-17): $60 per person (minimum pledge)

Cub Run (ages 5-12, 1K Trail Run): $5 per child

Supporting Spectators (not running but supporting the event): $15 per person
