Trail Blazers is located on 1,000 forested acres in the Kittatinny Mountain range of Northwestern New Jersey. Just ninety miles from New York City and minutes from the historic village of Milford, PA. Trail Blazers offers a serene, rustic setting for your group’s events. Surrounded by the 30,000 acre High Point State Park and Stokes State Forest, Trail Blazers provides spectacular opportunities for nature walks, wildlife observation and quiet reflection as well as hiking, fishing, boating and camping, both on and off site. For over 60 years, this natural setting has been home to our award winning Summer and Winter experiential education programs.

Our historic Adirondack style buildings were constructed by local artisans 60 years ago using natural materials found throughout Trail Blazers’ site. Guests can use our 3,400 square foot Great Hall complete with kitchen facilities, meeting space and dormitory style sleeping quarters. Thirty-foot beams, huge stone fireplaces and hand wrought iron fixtures provide the perfect setting for your stay. During warmer weather, your group has the option of sleeping in native shelters like tepees, covered wagons, round-toos or longhouses in individual campsites nestled around our 55 acre lake.

Trail Blazers invites schools, churches, youth development groups and other non-profit organizations to take advantage of our facilities. Rentals are available for half-days, full-days, weekends and week-long stays. Our unique site is ideal for retreats, reunions, picnics, camp-outs, environmental education workshops and team building activities. With the guidance of our certified staff, our high and low ropes Challenge Course provides an ideal opportunity for groups to develop a sense of interdependence, unity and trust. Groups can choose to plan their own activities or to utilize Trail Blazers' carefully trained and certified staff

Since 1887, Trail Blazers has taught the values and skills of cooperation and communication through outdoor experiential education and leadership training. We are committed to offering professional, low-cost retreats, team building, leadership development and challenge course programs.

Groups must provide their own means of transportation. Trail Blazers recommends Lakeland Bus Lines, Inc. (approx. $350 one way from NYC to our NJ site).

Fees (all rates include on-duty staff person)

Trail Blazers Challenge Course Instructor: $50 per hour, or $300 per day

Deposits & Payment Schedule

25% of the total cost must be paid before a booking can be confirmed. This deposit is non-refundable.

Balance must be paid in full 7 days before group's event.

On receipt of linens & towels the group will pay a $100 deposit, returnable if equipment is undamaged. An additional $200 returnable deposit required for use of Trail Blazers equipment - backpacks, sleeping bags, etc. Groups are advised to use their own equipment.

Groups must show evidence of $1,000,000 insurance coverage for bodily injury and property damage.

Availability for the site rental program is based on the demands of our core programs, specifically the Summer and Winter programs. Broadly speaking these programs cover the months of June, July, August & Parts of January and February.
