Hi! My name is Aoife (I know 4 vowels in a 5 letter name, who does that?). I am from Dublin, Ireland and I am currently studying Engineering in College. I really enjoy working with children and have lots of experience. I have been working as both a lifeguard and a swimming teacher for the past 3 years and have loved every minute of it! I have also been volunteering as a lifesaving instructor and a sports coach for a number of years. Living beside the mountains, it’s no surprise that I am a member of my local scouts and spend what free time I have hiking up the trails. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors and love how TBC is so rustic. I am really looking forward to this summer and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Hi guys! My name is Kasey and I live in Pennsylvania. I am an English major, gearing toward social work. I love the outdoors and can’t wait to get back to camp! Hi there, I’m Lucy! I’m from a small town just outside of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the North of England.  This is my first summer at Trail Blazers and I couldn’t be more excited! I currently work as a bookseller, having worked as a mentor with young people in the past. I start my Education and Psychology degree in September and hope to work in a range of settings when I graduate. I’m a singer from eastern Long Island, complete suburbia, and am currently studying as an Arts Management major at Purchase College. This will be my second year at Trail Blazers and I can’t wait to come back and be a part of this wonderful experience all over again. Aside from the Arts, I have always enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, everything included, and really appreciate the time I get to spend here at Trail Blazers. Hello! My name is Kyarrah. I am 22 years old from Brooklyn. I am currently a senior in college. Although my major is Law and Society, I have a passion for working with kids. I am going on my 9th summer at TBC and I couldn’t be more excited. TBC is such a magical place that changes lives. Not only does it mold the young minds of the campers, but it also help mold the minds of the adults as well. Transitioning from a camper to a group leader helped me realize that. Hi, my name is Michaela, I am from Brisbane Australia….. Yep the country where all the animals either bite or sting you. I am a qualified social worker, I began my career in youth work with Indigenous Australians and then made a transition to working with homeless mothers and their children for the majority of my career. After working at TBC last year I realised that working with young people is where my heart is, I cant wait to return for my second summer. I absolutely love being outdoors and I love kids so camp now just feels like my home and I cant wait to get started.

Hey there, my name is Jamie. I am a 4th time returner to Trail Blazer Camps and am extremely excited and proud to be a part of such a wonderful organisation. Trail Blazers has been such an important part of my life and looking back to my first time at camp, when I was still a student at university, it’s scary to think that I almost decided not to take the job. I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would be like or the person that I might have become without the experiences I gained, friends I made or challenges I faced! Trail Blazers Camp was, and still is, the place where I am truly able to be my best self and the lessons I learned there have come to define me as the person I have grown up to be. It’s going to be another amazing, roller coaster of a summer and I can’t wait to share the experience will all of you!

Hi, I’m Jordan from Staffordshire, England. I’m currently a student at the university of Worcester. In my spare time I love being in the outdoors, hiking, mountain climbing and generally getting muddy. This will be my first camp in America, but in the past I’ve taught field craft and survival skills in the Air Training Corps, so i’m no stranger to the camp life! I spent last summer teaching first aid in Africa for 3 months, and can’t wait to spend my next summer in the states and explore the new environment!! See you all soon!!

My name is Lorea, I’m from NYC but I was born in the Dominican Republic and spent the first 7 years of my life there. I’m currently a freshman in the University of Richmond in Virginia and I’m planning on majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Leadership Studies. This is my third year at TBC and my first year as a staff member which I’m really excited about! I love to travel, read, run and be around nature, oh and I also love kids!! As a camper, TBC helped me grow as an individual and challenged me beyond words. It taught me the importance of self-care, compassion and patience. The friendships I’ve made throughout the years at TBC are a few of the most meaningful warm-hearted relationships I’ve developed in my short years there and I can’t wait to be able to create even more this summer.

Hi, I’m Laura! I was born in Medellín, Colombia and grew up in Stamford, Connecticut. I am a first year at St.Lawrence University in the Adirondack region of New York. I have been exploring the outdoors for as long as I can remember and plan to further my appreciation for the earth in an Environmental Studies degree. This is my first year as a camp counselor but my fourth year as a mentor for young kids. The short week I spent at Trail Blazers two summers ago proved to be the experience of a lifetime and this time around I hope to contribute to building campers’ resilience, stewardship, and self confidence but more importantly, make this an unforgettable summer!

Hi guys, I’m Lowell. I’m from a town called Ballina in County Tipperary in Ireland and I am 20 years old. I am currently in my second year studying Health and Leisure in I.T. Tralee. This will be my first summer at camp and I can’t wait to meet you all! I love working with kids and being outdoors. I hope to make a lot of new friends this summer and experience new cultures. I do a lot swim teaching and I was a member of Scouts Ireland for ten years when I was younger so I feel that I am well suited to camp life. I love all sports and I love to travel. Hello everyone!! My name is Natalie. I was born and raised in the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Despite being a city girl I have always been a deep admirer of nature and all things outdoors. I’ve been a camper at many different summer camps since I was very young. But 7 years ago I was sent to Trail Blazers and have spent every single summer there since, from camper to group leader. I’m a high school graduate and currently on my gap year volunteering in rural Nepal. Being surrounded by youth every day I am reminded of how important it is to ensure we are empowering our youth and helping them flourish. Trail Blazers has taught me so much about myself, others and life. It brings me joy to help pay it forward again this summer.

Hello, my name is John and I am 20. I’m from Queens New York, but I’m originally from Haiti. I currently a student at Buffalo State College and I am studying Fashion. This summer is going to be my first year as a group leader and I am really excited to be a part of the community. I grew outdoors and I learned most my skills from my families while I was in Haiti. I love outdoors because there is always something to do or to learn. Fashion plays a big role in my life especially my personal style. I love reading books, hiking, and swimming. Cónas atá tú, everyone? I’m Eimear and I’m from the thriving metropolis of Kerry, more specifically a village in the south west of Ireland with a population of 700! I recently graduated from the University College of Dublin with an English degree and am hoping to spend next year travelling and teaching. Last year I worked as a Waterfront Instructor at TBC and can say I have never had a more rewarding, challenging or inspiring experience. What I loved about camp was that I wasn’t just a lifeguard but I had the opportunity to spend the summer working closely with the kids and my small camp counselors which was the highlight of my summer. I am so grateful for my summer spent in New Jersey and cannot wait to get stuck back into it! See you all on the dock (I’ll be the sunburned one).

Hi 🙂 My name is Philip and I’m super excited for my third summer camp season this year. It’ll be my second summer at TBC and this year I’m taking on the role of program specialist, having been the bike specialist last year. I’m a 3rd year student at Durham University in the UK where my double majors are Education and Geography. This summer I’ll be flying in from Reykjavik, Iceland where I’ve been living, working and studying since camp last year. Camp is where you’ll find the happiest me, I hardly ever stop talking about it. I can’t wait to get to know you all in the sun, by the lake or during Pow Wow around the campfire. This summer will be my 10th summer spent at a summer camp, so it’s safe to say that I love camp!! This year will be my second year at Trail Blazers working as a Waterfront Director and I can’t imagine spending my summer any other way. Hi I’m Jonny and I’m from Edinburgh in Scotland. I’m studying Politics and International Relations at the University of York, which is interesting considering the times we live in both in the USA and the in the UK. I love the outdoors since I spent most of my childhood and school time playing rugby of some kind outdoors in any weather at any time. I really got in to the outdoors during my gap year, where I stayed on a desert island in Australia for a week with just the essentials and functioning toilet, luckily. I’m interested in sports as I have tried my hand at most of them from hockey to squash. This will be my first time in the USA and at Trail Blazers so I’m really looking forward to a complete new summer experience compared to what I have done before!

Hello Everyone! My Name is Ali Eren, but everybody calls me Eren. I am 22 years old I was born in a little town called Oldenzaal in the Netherlands. I love playing all kinds of outdoor games and sports. My favourite sport is football – the kind with the round ball, but my biggest hobby/passion is TRAVELING!
I just finished my college in the tourism and now I want to travel for a few years. I have worked abroad 4 times on camp sides and hotels in different countries with different teams, about half a year each time. This will be my first time in the USA and at Trail Blazers, and I can’t wait to meet you all!

My name is Jon I’m 22 from Sussex County, NJ. I am so beyond excited for my first summer at Trail Blazers! Sleeping under the stars, fresh air, and the sounds of nature are all I need. Adventure is my passion which has given me amazing experiences. I am studying Environmental Science at SCCC and hope to be a mountain guide! I was Reporter of the Newton FFA and had the opportunity to earn a national silver emblem in forestry and FFA American degree. In 2015 I founded the Sussex Adventure Club at Sussex County Community College which has brought students closer to nature. We have created and maintain 7 miles of trails on campus. Last Summer I was the VSA at Swartswood State Park where I gained valuable knowledge of the local environment. I hope to share those skills with all of you! Embracing challenge, communication and acceptance of new ideas are the keys to success. Everyone one of us has the capacity to hold these keys. I’m ready for an unforgettable summer, are you? Hola! My name is Jose but people know me as Chief. I am a 3rd time returner to Trail Blazers sleepaway camp. With a background in education and a love for the outdoors, it’s no wonder why I keep coming back to this amazing place. I truly believe in the values that Trail Blazers drives to teach everyone, both staff and campers. I currently reside in Staten Island, NY. I teach Mathematics (yes I love math) and I’m part of the Under One Sky team for Trail Blazers. I drive myself to help those who seek help and learn from those who are willing to inspire. My name is Aisling. I am a primary school teacher from Ireland and I can’t wait to spend this summer working at Trail Blazers summer camp. I have been working with children and young people for as long as I can remember and I enjoy it so much. I consider it such a privilege to have the opportunity to guide and lead others while at the same time learning so much from them. My favourite activities include walking, running, hiking and spending time being active and creative in nature. I also love to read and write and have a particular passion for writing poetry. I have run quite a few art sessions and groups over time and love to encourage others to get creative with materials and apply their own personality to their creations. I have worked in different parts of the world and have worked with newborns right up to people similar in age to myself. My main concern and focus when working with others is their happiness and safety. I feel that understanding the needs and personalities of others is of utmost priority in ensuring they have a happy, safe and meaningful time and experience.
