For Adults

Expedition Adventures for the Outdoor Enthusiast

An expedition is an experience like no other, challenging you in every possible way, comfort in the outdoors, working together in a team, exploring your own limits. You don’t need to have prior experience to get the most out of a Trail Blazers expedition – the expeditions are offered an appropriate pace for all participants.

The expedition is what Trail Blazers does best – using the natural environment to bring together a group of people to get the best out of themselves and their fellow group members. Participating in an expedition will teach you to lead, to communicate, to closely connect to nature, to excel and have a life changing experience, lead by our qualified and talented staff.

We offer three types of expedition this summer, each with several standard elements that have been at the core of the Trail Blazers experience since 1887, whether at our summer camps, environmental education programs or the expeditions:

Outdoor Skills Development

You learn to read a map, develop teamwork and new personal skills, and learn how to survive in the outdoors.

Challenges

To have the ultimate experience, teams are exposed to various and progressive challenges leading into the actual expedition For that reason, all expeditions start on our 100 acre estate, before venturing into the surrounding natural parks.

Solo – Individual Reflection

Time spent alone is an essential part of our program. Participants spend solo-time to reflect on the experience every day, allowing for unstructured and structured opportunities to explore and deepen the individual experience.

Community

To be a Trail Blazer is to give back and each expedition includes elements to do so, through projects like trail maintenance, campsite cleanup and many other opportunities.

Completing an expedition requires mastery of outdoor skills, leadership, trust of your team mates and an open mind to new ideas and people. No experience is necessary and each course will leave its participants with a new found appreciation for the natural world and one’s personal abilities – it truly is the experience of a lifetime.

We offer three Expedition Adventure packages during the summer. Each expedition will take place with a group of 6-8 outdoor enthusiasts, led by experienced and qualified outdoor staff (Wilderness First Aid certified or equivalent). An expedition adventure lasts for 7 days and will challenge the group as well as each individual participant to explore their outdoor boundaries and capabilities, their sense of comfort in the outdoors and most of all their ability to have a blast in the wild!
