Hello Everyone. My name is Katia, I am a born and raised Brooklynite and will be the Assistant Director for Trail Blazers PLG Day Camp. I started working in Trail Blazers after school and can’t wait for the summer to meet all of you and our campers. I love gardening, making my own hair products, dancing, reading and playing video games.

Hello Friends! I’m Jay and I’ve come all the way from the UK to make sure your children have the best summer possible! I’ve been a part of summer camps since 2011, starting as a Counselor and progressing all the way up to Director. I joined Trail Blazers in 2014 and fell in love with the program and philosophy and cannot wait to see what our team of champions accomplishes this summer. Outside of camp I enjoy practicing circus skills, visiting museums and galleries and exploring your beautiful city!

Hi, I am Falola. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am a first year college student studying Physical Education and Sports. This is my first time at Trail Blazers and I am overly excited and anxiously waiting to experience the fun, laughter and even the challenges camp brings. I enjoy being around children and playing games. I also enjoy playing netball, football and doing makeup.

Hey everyone! My name is Shanice Taylor, a first time group leader here at camp Trail Blazers. I am a second year student at the University of Technology, Jamaica where I am pursuing my Bachelor degree in Child and Adolescent Development. My love for children has brought me into this field of study & I hope to use my knowledge and skills to make camp a fun filled and memorable one for the children this summer! It will be such a privilege working with the campers and I am looking forward to this new and exciting adventure that awaits!

I have experience as a mentor in High school where I worked with children ages 7-10. I love working with children because I have the same high energy level and think I will be a good role model. Hello! My name is Kristen and I’m from the UK. It will be my first year at Trail Blazers, and I hope to help make it the best summer the campers have ever had! I studied Geography at University and have a passion for environmental education and sustainable living. In the past I have coached gymnastic to 4-7 year olds and I currently volunteer in schools, helping children with their reading skills. My hobbies include dancing, music and boxing, but I love to try new things!

My name is Aisling. I am a primary school teacher from Ireland and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in education and psychology. Hey guys! I’m Freddie O’Reilly and I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. I’m in art college and as such I’m a creative guy. I also work in a family friendly restaurant where I’m best friends with all the other waiters. I’ve been swimming from as young as I can remember and I always love plunging into the pool. This is my first year working at Trail Blazers and I can’t wait to bring my fresh enthusiasm to the table. I enjoy swimming, exercising, good music and of course I love art too. Most of all I love making new friends and I can’t wait to meet all of you guys soon!

Hi there! My name is Ethan and I’m from Birmingham, UK. I am currently studying Theatre and Performance at The University of Leeds and have been performing since the age of 10 when I first played Fat Sam in a production of Bugsy Malone. I have an extensive background and experience in working with and teaching drama to children and young people, as well as leading groups for residential trips. I can’t wait to spend my first summer at Trail Blazers creating lots of exciting memories and adventures with you all in New York City!

Hi, my name is Kate and I am from the country where people eat haggis, shortbread and drink Irn-Bru…it is of course Scotland!

This is my first year at Trail Blazers, and I can’t wait to get involved. I have experience in coaching summer camps in the UK with children ranging from 4-17, and I am so excited to share some of the games us Scots play!

I am a vibrant, outgoing and smiley individual. In my spare time I love going for walks and trying new food! I can’t wait to meet you, and hope to bring you one of the best summers yet!

Hi everyone! My name is Rowen Reemers and I am from the Netherlands.

This will be my first year at Trail Blaizers and I am really excited to spend this summer as a group leader! I have studied physiotherapy and have a passion for sports.

I love working with children. I have coached athletics to children aged 8-15 years  and still kick in as a coach or jury member at the athletics competitions. Besides that I regularly organize youth activities.

I can not wait to meet you all guys and I hope for an unforgettable summer in which children can have lots of fun

Hi my name is Caoimhe (pronounced Kweeva- probably the most difficult Irish name to pronounce!) and I’m a 20 year old Irish student from the countryside of County Meath. I’m currently in my second year of studying Law and French at Trinity College Dublin. I cannot wait to get started working with Trailblazers this summer and meet everyone! I spent all of last summer teaching English to underprivileged children in Kolkata, India and I am delighted to be working with children again this year.

I am a keen athlete and  have competed at national level in track and field for years, specializing in sprints and long jump. I can’t wait to get stuck into some fun sports activities at camp this summer. I also have a passion for music and dance which I hope I will be able to share with the children this summer. Can’t wait to meet you all soon!

Hi there, my name is Jack O’Brien and I’m in first year studying Political Science and Geography in Trinity College Dublin. I have been coaching since the age of 16 and involved in school outreach programs with Saint Vincent de Paul in College. I am the social sports co-ordinator in my college and have been working in the university’s sports centre for three years. I can’t wait to work with and get to know a variety of kids and leaders this summer!

I’m Joe and I am from Liverpool, on the sunny island that is Great Britain. I’ve been a boxing coach for years and have a lot of experience teaching kids and I love having a laugh doing so, probably because I’m still a child at heart myself. My main passion is music and guitar, which will definitely find a way into our activities at camp (don’t worry, I won’t break out my rendition of Wonderwall at any point).

Summer can’t come fast enough and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and ensuring that it’ll be a time to remember!’
